Plot Summary

The film begins with the brutal murder of a Mumbai man named John by a group of gangsters led by Bappu Ganesh. As time goes on, Bappu becomes more and more powerful, until he manages to seize power from the government of Maharashtra and make himself chief minister of the state. Shiva Kumar is a poor slum-dweller who, after watching his parents being brutally murdered by Bappu's men, decides that it's time to get rid of Bappu. He gets the people of Dharavi slum in Mumbai together and forms a rebellion against him.

Shiva also gets recruited as a sub-inspector with Mumbai police, and his brother's wife Manasi hopes that he will accept bribes like other police officers so that they can improve their standard of living. Instead, Shiva befriends Sandhya Joshi, a journalist from Daily News Analysis (D.N.A.), who is determined to expose the nexus between the police and the underworld. Shiva incurs the wrath of his superiors as well as Bappu, who tries to eliminate him several times.

After apprehending a vicious killer named Kutney from Malaysia, Shiva is summoned by Home Minister Manohar Shirke, who offers him a deal to join his side and betray Bappu. Shiva refuses and realizes that Shirke is actually behind all the crimes in the city and has been using Bappu as a pawn. Shiva decides to take down both Shirke and Bappu in a final showdown.
